Humane Unveils Details of CosmOS: Revolutionizing AI Interaction with a Next-Gen Operating System.
Expanded SDK and licensing opportunities foster open AI ecosystem across devices.
Humane is for the first time revealing how CosmOS, their proprietary operating system, works in action. This new software architecture represents a paradigm shift in how artificial intelligence interacts with users and their environment.
CosmOS seamlessly integrates user requests with personal context and data, using a sophisticated decision-making process to determine the most appropriate service or LLM for each task. The result is a highly personalized AI assistant that delivers precise actions and responses with unprecedented efficiency.
Traditional OS architecture follows a rigid, layered structure - from hardware to user interface, each component is separate and static. Applications sit on top, each with its own GUI and logic. CosmOS' revolutionary design rethinks this structure from the ground up to offer a truly intelligent, adaptive, and responsive computing experience. It features an AI-driven core that intelligently manages various system functions, including user interactions, task orchestration, and personalization. This integrated approach allows for a more fluid and context-aware system. CosmOS leverages a multi-modal interface that seamlessly interprets and responds to various forms of user input in a more holistic and intelligent way. CosmOS delivers a seamless, intelligent experience that adapts to you.
Since launching Ai Pin in May, Humane has delivered a slew of updates to CosmOS, recently releasing version 1.2, featuring improved battery life, speed, personal voice translation, Touchcode and more, with a strong roadmap for future releases and features.
CosmOS is designed to support multiple device form factors and adapt to the latest advancements in AI technology. Humane is in discussions with multiple partners to extend CosmOS beyond Ai Pin, bringing the OS to more devices and form factors.
Today, Humane is also announcing its plans to expand their Software Development Kit (SDK), which will enable select partners in software and hardware to create agents and services that seamlessly integrate with CosmOS and Ai Pin. The company is currently working one-on-one with partners, with plans for a broader rollout next year. More details on this rollout will be provided soon.
For hardware manufacturers interested in leveraging Humane’s proprietary AI orchestration technology, the company offers licensing opportunities for CosmOS. This allows partners to bring their technology into the future of AI-driven computing. Interested parties are encouraged to contact Humane for more information on licensing CosmOS for their hardware.
Imran Chaudhri and Bethany Bongiorno said: “We believe that the true potential of AI can only be realised through collaboration and openness. By opening up CosmOS to our partners, we're inviting the brightest minds to join us in shaping the future of human-AI interaction. Together, we can create experiences that are not only deeply personalised but also truly empowering for users around the world."
